The Best of Echoes 2020
There are a lot of things we’re going to remember about 2020, The pandemic, protests, the Presidential election. But what you should really take away from this year is the incredible music that came out that was played on Echoes. In recognition of 30 years of Echoes, we’ve just put together our Top 30 list of 2020. We could only fit the top 20 in this two-hour program, but you can see the full list here.

I was looking forward to Best of Echoes 2020, having pulled down the Friday, Jan. 1 playlist earlier in the day. I usually have the playlist of a program displaying on my computer (through which I stream the program). Sometimes even print out the playlist so I can circle certain selections that I might want to download and/or purchases. I was surprised to find this evening’s program was an unusual “blend”. The first half hour started out as the first half hour of the Christmas II program, complete with introduction of same by John D. The 2nd half hour seamlessly blended into the Best Of Echoes 2020 programming. Following the break, the 3rd half hour came forth and it was, yup, the 12/25/20 Christmas II 3rd half hour. Really wanted to hear the Best of Echoes 3rd half hour selections. Then, as the 4th half hour cranked up, it was all Best of Echoes 2020. I listen to Echoes via WLTR – Columbia, SC, 91.3 FM. They may be having problems with the Echoes feed. Many times the daily play list doesn’t show up until after the program for the day is in progress, or the following day! I have been listening to Echoes for years, this is the first time I have ever experienced a “blending” of programs in a single broadcast. You might want to have your technical people ascertain if the feed to other PRX affiliated stations experienced this same “blend/mix-up”. FWIW

I’m pretty sure this was a on-off issue with SCETV-Radio. Possibly a Holiday staffing glitch, but we’re looking into it.
