Dark Sky Alliance - Progressive Ambient: The Echoes Interview
It’s a meeting of artists creating an ambient world when we talk to Dark Sky Alliance, featuring Peter Gabriel drummer Jerry Marotta, guitarist David Helpling, keyboardist Rupert Greenall from The Fixx, and electronic artist Eric “The” Taylor. Their sound is what happens when New Age and New Wave double-date with Progressive Rock and Ambient. Their debut album, Interdwell, is a study in ambience and soundscaping. John Diliberto signs us up with Dark Sky Alliance on Echoes from PRX.

On the next Echoes, The California Guitar Trio Live. Get ready for some guitar virtuosity and an instrument that isn’t a guitar, even though the guy who plays it is in the California Guitar trio. As if 18 strings weren’t enough, they’ve replaced one guitarist with Tom Griesgraber who plays the 12 string Chapman Stick, giving them a total of 24 strings. We’ll hear this new configuration of CGT coming in to play live including three new, and thus far, unreleased tracks and a guest appearance by Italian electric guitarist Fabio Mittino. Join us when the California Guitar Trio comes in to play live on Echoes from PRX.
CGT also played their epic cover of Pink Floyd’s “Echoes” for us, which was too long to fit into the on-air version of this performance, but you CAN hear it on our on-line concert stream, in the Echoes App, or listen right here on the Echoes website .
