New music by Katie Kim from her album Hour of the Ox. She’s an Irish singer who combines folk and electronic music. We’ll also hear from the band Numün who performs a very spacey brand of ambient music. Their new album is The Book of Beyond. The music is always beyond on Echoes.

We remember Moya Brennan, the singer with the groundbreaking Irish band Clannad. She left the planet at only 73. We’ll hear music from Clannad, her numerous solo albums and more.

In the last half-hour of the show, mindphasers are on stun as we float through Klaus Schulze’s Moondawn, released 50 years ago. It is a seminal album of Berlin-School electronics with sequencers in full force and Moog solos flying through space. We’ll celebrate this epic and important work on Echoes from PRX.

On a Slow Flow Echoes we step into the Ambient Church to hear Steve Roach and his concert recorded live at a New York City church. It’s a set that covers music from across his career. We’ll drop into a long track from his more recent modular synth phase. We’ll also hear Rena Jones and Kilo Watts from their album, Force Multiplier. They combine their electronics as well as Rena’s multiple classical string instruments. It’s in the current of a Slow Flow Echoes.

Electronic artist Craig Padilla and guitarist Marvin Allen have released a quartet of albums that traverse the world of ambient, progressive rock and psychedelic music. Their latest is Unfolding Skies. It is Echoes April CD of the Month. Its cosmic sounds were all recorded in Craig Padilla’s living room.
Craig Padilla: “We did the first song, and when it was done, Marvin goes, ‘Padilla, make another sequence.’ And so he and my wife would go into the kitchen and just talk and I’d be out here just working on some other song ideas and then he’d go, ‘Ooh, that sounds good.’”
Craig Padilla and Marvin Allen talk about their journey and reveal the story behind “Jammin’ with Buddha.”
Read John Diliberto’s review of Unfolding Skies and explore the Echoes CD of the Month Club.

Music by Moby. His 2025 album, Always Centered at Night, featured a bevy of vocalists. One of them is the Dutch-Sudanese vocalist Gaidaa. It’s called “Transit”. We’ll hear that, and music by Mayfly from Hideaway Volume 1. It’s ahead on Echoes with John Diliberto from PRX.
