New music by Marisa Anderson and Mafu Conteh on Echoes
New music for stringed instruments. We’ll hear Marisa Anderson, a disciple of John Fahey and Leo Kottke, from her album Still Here. And I’ve got music for the African kora, played by Mafu Conteh, from his album Sabaro. It’s produced by David Gilden, who is also a kora player and one of the early world fusionists. We pluck them all and instruments that can’t be plucked on Echoes.
