Jomoro's Percussive Moods: The Echoes Interview

Jomoro Blue Marble Sky

It’s a meeting of electronic and acoustic percussion and ethereal moods with Jomoro. This is the project of percussionists Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco with guest artists including Sharon Van Etten and Lucious. Veteran players with artists like David Byrne, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Atoms for Peace and more, they’ve conceived an album that’s like Can meets Tropicália meets the avant-garde, on their debut album, Blue Marble Sky. We beat the drums of Jomoro on Echoes.

Some weekend listeners will also hear some of the last music created by Harold Budd. The ambient artist passed last December, but he left his soundtrack to HBO’s I Know This Much Is True. We’ll hear a track from that and a single by Thievery Corporation‘s Eric Hilton from the third album of his trilogy, Ceremony. Hear out profile on Harold Budd and Eric Hilton and Thievery in the Echoes Podcast.
