Echoes of Love

On this Valentine’s Day Week, it’s Echoes of Love. John Diliberto has the music to – you know – get you in the mood. We’re going to hear hymns to loves present and past, and music that will get set the romantic scene.  The night will drape itself in velvet, the air thick with the quiet hum of longing and the incense of devotion. It’s a soundscape of love—its warmth, its mystery, its quiet reverie.  We’ll explore love songs that take us to the sensual and the erotic, with music from Azam Ali, AVAWAVES, Kate Bush and more songs for this romantic day. Join John Diliberto for Echoes of Love from PRX.

There are many progressive rock bands that still stalk the earth. Yes, King Crimson, Van Der Graaf Generator. But not Gentle Giant. They made all their records during Prog Rocks glory years in the 1970s and then called it quits. While their legacy continues on as one of the most innovative and expansive bands in the genre, their co-founding member and lead singer, Derek Shulman went from the stage to the record executive office working for Polygram, Atco and Roadrunner records and signing acts like Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Dream Theater and Pantera. His journey is chronicled in his new autobiography, Giant Steps: My Improbable Journey from Stage Lights to Executive Heights. John Diliberto takes that journey with Derek Shulman on Echoes from PRX.
