An Echoes Memorial Day Soundscape

An Echoes Memorial Day Soundscape

We remember on an Echoes Memorial Day Soundscape, as John Diliberto brings us music to contemplate the loss and the carnage of wars across time, especially as we experience the assault on Ukraine, the continuing carnage in Gaza, and now the war in Iran. We’ll hear songs from Loreena McKennitt, The Zombies, Hammock, Hans Zimmer and more.

We remember pianist Philip Aaberg, who passed-away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 77.   Phil’s music was played frequently on Echoes over the years, and he even performed live for the show, twice. We’ll hear a few of his tracks, and some stories about him, on this program.  You can read John Diliberto’s memories of Philip Aaberg here>>

Steve Roach & Hollan Holmes

We’ll also hear a pair of electronic artists whose branches have grown in different directions from their German space music roots. We’ll hear Steve Roach from his live album, La Rosa, and Hollan Holmes from the Sanctity of Rust. John Diliberto says there is nothing rusty about the next Echoes from PRX.
