Johnson & Keaggy's Spinning on a Cosmic Dime - The Echoes September CD of the Month

On the next Echoes our CD of the month is a journey from Jeff Johnson and Phil Keaggy. Spinning on A Cosmic Dime is the fifth album and fifth CD of the Month from the duo.  Each track on the record is a journey, and they hold  together like the early albums by Mike Oldfield, such as Hergest Ridge, which recently turned 50.  I’d venture to say that Johnson and Keaggy are descendants of that sound.  John Diliberto spins up Jeff Johnson and Phil Keaggy’s latest release, the September CD of the Month on Echoes from PRX.

Zanias usually sings words, but on her latest album, Ecdysis, she takes inspiration from Dead Can Dance and Lisa Gerrard and as well as hallucinogenics.

I’m just so incredibly fascinated by consciousness and the human mind and everything that it’s capable of. So I had to explore everything that I read about when I was a teenager. And I was actually very young when I first experienced psychedelics. It was in Asia and it was magic mushrooms. And they made me just think in such an interesting way and feel things in such an interesting way.
