Loreena McKennitt Making a North American Tour

It’s just been announced that Loreena McKennitt will be touring the east of America in the Fall. The Visit Revisited Tour: The Next Chapter commemorates the 32nd anniversary of McKennitt’s album, The Visit. The album was released in Canada in 1991 and internationally in 1992. The Visit was the recording that propelled McKennitt onto the world stage, and it’s the album that brought her to Echoes in 1992 for her first of many interview appearances. She’s also played live on the show twice, the first time in the Echoes basement.  She will be hitting a lot of Echoes cities including Portland, ME, Rochester, NY, Philadelphia, Reading, PA and Columbus, OH. She’ll be performing with her core band of Caroline Lavelle on cello, Brian Hughes on guitar, Hugh Marsh on violin and Dudley Phillips on bass. You’ll recall that The Visit was reissued last year in a deluxe edition. We talked to Loreena at that time and you can hear it here. Her last album, Under a Winter’s Moon was the Echoes CD of the Month this past December.
