Monday, Sept 7, 2026 – Echoes Program 2636A

Today we’ve got an extraordinary artist for you, KÁRYYN. She is an electronic singer-songwriter of Armenian descent who came up through the experimental world studying with electronic and Deep Listening composer Pauline Oliveros. She has released her second album, Physics Universal Love Language or PULL. Her music is centered around her voice.
KÁRYYN: My voice is my first instrument and I’m not trained as a singer so it’s not about singing licks, it’s not about that, you know, it’s not traditionally what would sound beautiful. I use my voice to shape whatever I’m trying to sing, so whatever I’m trying to express and that is what the voice is for.
Her voice goes many places when John Diliberto talks to KÁRYYN on Echoes from PRX.

Tuesday, Sept 8, 2026 – Echoes Program 2636B

Singer Julia Holter is a singer, composer and instrumentalist who takes avant-garde techniques and spins them into haunting chamber pop songs that sound like a dream. Her latest incursion into your subconsciousness is Materia. We’ll hear that and recently released music by Chick Corea from a 1972 solo performance. He plays his song, “Crystal Silence,” a perfection in compositions. All that and more on Echoes with John Diliberto from PRX.
