On the next Echoes, Platform8. This is the duo of Noah Wilding and Tom Eaton. Tom you know from numerous Will Ackerman productions as well as the Brothers trio with Ackerman and Jeff Oster. He’s also part of an ambient trio with Oster and guitarist Vin Downes. Noah Wilding you have also heard from many Will Ackerman productions. Whenever there is a whispering voice it’s usually Noah Wilding who is actually Ackerman’s wife, Suzanne. She and Eaton have gotten together as Platform8 for an album, of deep dream pop. It’s on the next Echoes from PRX.

This is an ambient chamber music project from LA composer Tyler Durham.  He recorded with members of the London Symphony Orchestra to get the crystalline sound of his album, Coming Home. Let the sun shine in as Echoes orchestrate a soundscape for the Summer Solstice. We’ll hear music from Bill Nelson, George Winston, Mimi Page and Ludovico Einaudi. John Diliberto soaks up the rays of an Echoes Summer Solstice Soundscape from PRX.
We’ve once again hit that point of the year with the longest day of sunshine and the official start to the summer season. It’s a time of hot days, celestial configurations and mythical and mystical occurrences. I’ve got a lot of that for you in a soundscape that will include Ian Boddy and Erik Wøllo with a song called “Apogee” which is where we are on the Solstice with the earth at its furthest distance from the Sun. It’s a show painted in summer colors as we travel through the longest day and shortest night of the year. The summer heat is finally bearing down on me today, but I’ll be bringing you the chill. It’s always a time for pause then the seasons are at the extremes, whether it’s the equilibrium between day and night on the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes or the long night of the Winter Solstice or the long day of the Summer Solstice. We’ve got “Endless Summers,” “Sun Kings,” and “Summer Rain”. Get your umbrella out and your sunscreen on for Echoes Summer Solstice.
