Will Ackerman Heads Home with Echoes November CD of the Month
2026 is proving to be a Windham Hill kind of year. The label, which no longer exists, is celebrating their 50th anniversary. We did a feature on Windham Hill this year and just had an interview with Windham Hill founder, Will Ackerman. And today, we’ll hear our November CD of the Month, Home by Will Ackerman.
Windham Hill Records was founded so that Will Ackerman could put out his debut album, In Search of the Turtle’s Navel. That led to a multi-million dollar record label that influenced a generation and more. The label doesn’t exist anymore, but Will Ackerman certainly does. And he’s still composing wistful tunes that seem paint idyllic, pastoral pictures. He does all that on his new album, Home, his 15th solo recording. Home is a perfect album for this time of year as we move into reflection. It’s right at home here on Echoes.
