We go Whaling with Rone and Go Before Boards of Canada

On the next Echoes we go whaling with Rone from his album Megaptera. Rone is the name used by Erwa Castex to create some pretty inventive electronic music. Megaptera takes its title from the scientific name for Humpback whales and Catex actually went out with a filmmaker and scientists to explore the resonance of music with oceangoing creatures. He creates an electronic tone poem to these oceanic behemoths We’ll also hear new music by guitar Tom Caufield from his album Quiet Modern and it’s the return of Board of Canada releasing their first new album in 13 years. It’s called Inferno and It ignites on Echoes with John Diliberto from PRX.
