New Music from Mara Katria & Modern English

Mara Katria

Remember Modern English? The band, not the dialect. Well, Mara Katria does, and she has a new collaboration with the band called Modern M. The music is moody and anthemic, a modern extrapolation of a New Wave classic sound. We’ll hear music from it on the next Echoes from PRX.

It’s an Ancient Echoes when we look back on Michael Garrison. He was among the first American artists to pick up on the sound of German electronic music in the 1970s and 80s. Sadly, Garrison died young in 2004. John Diliberto looks back at his music legacy on Echoes from PRX.
