Ancient Future: The Echoes Interview

Ancient Future

It’s the return of Ancient Future on the next Echoes. The band that coined the term World Fusion in 1978 has their first significant release in nearly 25 years. I talk to founder and guitarist Matthew Montfort as well as percussionist Benjy Wertheimer, about their world fusion vision, and covering a song by some Grunge icons. It’s world fusion with Ancient Future on the next Echoes from PRX.

Geoglyph

On the next Echoes we go Otherworldly, the new album from British electronic artist, Geoglyph. Geoglyph is Chris Charles and his new album is inspired by Dune and it’s vast, worm infested sandscapes.  It has touches of You era Gong, namely Tim Blake’s electronics, the global dub sound of Desert Dwellers and a bit of German space music. He uses a lot of analog and hardware synths and you can hear that in the warmth of his sound, no matter how spacey it get and it does get spacey. John Diliberto takes us Otherworldly on Echoes from PRX.
