Take a Trip with Psychedelia, the new album by The Delia Derbyshire Appreciation Society on a Slow Flow Echoes
It’s going to start out a bit psychedelic on a Slow Flow Echoes, but not the psychedelic of the late 1960s. We’ve got a track from Steven Halpern’s Music for Microdosing cued up and we’ll feature 2 tracks from Psychedelia by the Delia Derbyshire Appreciation Society. Delia Derbyshire was a legendary English electronic musician from the early 1960s. She created the theme to Dr. Who. The Delia Derbyshire Appreciation Society takes their name and inspiration from her. When you hear their music, you’ll realize it’s not the kind of society that has meetings over tea and crumpets. The society is just two musicians, American synth player Harvey Jones and English synth player Garry Hughes. Garry is also a member of the Bombay Dub Orchestra. Their new album is another take on their beat free, low dynamic ambient soundscapes. John Diliberto takes us on a couple of trips on the next Echoes from PRX.
