Music from Liquid Bloom & PERE, Stephan Micus Interview
Liquid Bloom teams up with PERE from Israel for an album of tribal electronic moods called Afar. We’ll hear that, along with Tigerforest‘s album, Discovery remixed as Re:Discovery. It’s all music discovery on Echoes.
Before there was a “world music” genre, there was Stephan Micus, playing instruments from Afghanistan to India to Indonesia. However, ever since his first album,Archaic Concerts, in 1976, the German composer was never making world music, but other-worldly music. He plays his ethnic instruments in non-traditional ways, multi-tracking them in layered arrangements and creating a usually meditative excursion. He recently released a new album, Winter’s End. We talk to Stephan Micus about his imaginary world music on Echoes.
