Interview with Lebanese singer Yasmine Hamdan.
Yasmine Hamdan is Beirut born and electronic bred. The singer has been creating a unique brand of Arab electronica, mixing middle eastern dialects and modalities into synthesizer strewn arrangements, all surrounding her full-throated voice intoning tales of turmoil both personal and political. Her latest album, Al Jamilat (The Beautiful Ones) mixes her passion for early Arabic music and electronic pop into a sensual and passionate album. She talks about her nomadic life and Lebanese taxi drivers.
