A Winter Landscape Without the Carols on An Echoes Winter Solstice

It’s that time of year again when the balance of light and dark has shifted completely to the longest night of the year. In my neck of the woods we’ve gotten our first serious pre-Christmas snow in years and that has completely set the mood. In the tradition of the original Windham Hill Winter Solstice albums, you won’t hear any Christmas carols on this show although some jingle bells might slip in. It’s just pure winter reverie, a soundscape of snow-shrouded trees, silent saguaro cacti and white-out conditions. It’s a sleigh ride into the celestial and chilled side of the season. An Echoes Winter Solstice from PRX.
