Surf-Country-Psychedelic Twang by Arc De Soleil on Echoes
We go surf music country twang on the next Echoes with Arc De Soleil. Despite that description, they’re a band from Sweden led by guitarist Daniel Kadawatha. He was born in Sri Lanka but raised in Sweden. His primary instrument is guitar and he can wail on that, but he’s also a multi-instrumentalist. He started out as something of a singer-songwriter and moved to a more groove oriented approach. But Arc de Soleil is predominantly instrumental. You can definitely hear a reference to Khruangbin in their mix of country twang and middle eastern modes. But he’s more electronic in his grooves and dynamic in his song-writing and playing.
