Trevor Gordon Hall In an Echoes Christmas Concert
Trevor Gordon Hall is a master finger-style guitarist who also plays a custom-designed instrument called the Kalimbatar, that combines the African kalimba with an acoustic guitar. He’s a member of the quartet, Four Guitars which includes Windham Hill Records founder Will Ackerman, and the trio Tripliciti with Andy McKee and Calum Graham. NPR’s Tom Moon said Hall creates “Sharp, absorbing and beautiful meditations for guitar that will get your mind moving in new ways…” and Acoustic Guitar Magazine said that Hall is “. . . helping to transform the way the instrument is being played around the world…” Based in Philadelphia, he’s released two albums of seasonal music, “Let Your Heart Be Light” and “Live at the Strand Theater: A Christmas Special,” the latter the soundtrack his new PBS special. We’ll hear him play that live. His concert will be surrounded by seasonal sounds.
