On the next Echoes, Jeff Oster, Vin Downes and Tom Eaton come in to play live. Jeff Oster is the noted trumpeter who has released several solo CDs, many of them Echoes CD of the Month picks. He also plays in the trio Brothers with Will Ackerman and Tom Eaton, and he is the “O” in FLOW with Fiona Joy Hawkins, Lawrence Blatt and Will Ackerman. Vin Downes is a disciple of Will Ackerman and was his guitar tech for many years. Tom Eaton is a master producer and engineer for numerous recordings you’ve heard on the show as well as a prolific creator of ambient electronic landscapes and solo piano works. The trio released their debut album, Seven Conversations earlier this year, a deep recording of ambient improvisation. It was the Echoes CD of the Month in May. Every time they play, it’s a different journey. John Diliberto invites you on the trip when Oster, Downes and Eaton play live on Echoes from PRX.
