Jaymie Rose Hennegan - Transition - Echoes August CD of the Month

On the next Echoes, the August CD of the Month is the debut recording of Jaymie Rose Hennegan. She has spun an album of delirious sequencers and free-form synth solos all improvised and recorded live on the double CD album, Transition. John Diliberto is traveling the spaceways of Jaymie Rose Hennegan’s Transition, Echoes August CD of the Month, from PRX.

We also revisit an interview with Tori Amos. It’s the 10th anniversary of her album, Unrepentant Geraldines. It’s being reissued in a deluxe edition. We interviewed her back then and I thought we’d revisit it today. The album came after a trio of conceptual albums and orchestral recordings. Unrepentant Geraldines was a return to form as Tori engaged in some introspection at the coming of her mid-century mark.

Tori Amos: I was looking 50 in the eye. I am 50 and being 50 is great, but if you’d asked me this this time last year, I might have given you a different answer. So all these songs have been part of me getting to this place.

Tori Amos talks about life at 50 (she’s 60 now) and Unrepentant Geraldines.
