Echoes turns 34 and we revisit the music we played during our first week on the air.
On Echoes’ 34th Anniversary we go back to music from that first year of Echoes Programs. The first song played on the show was Tangerine Dream’s “Tiergarten” from the album, Le Parc and we had an interview with Pat Metheny. Not a bad beginning I’d say. Today, I’m taking you into the wayback machine and we’re going to hear music that we were playing in those first three months of 1989. A lot of it is things we still play while some of it has drifted away. But get ready to trigger those memory engrams. Expect to hear some Tangerine Dream, Jon Hassell, Brian Eno, Philip Glass and some music you’ve completely forgotten about. It was a blast to put together and reminds of where we’ve been and how far we’ve gone, curating the music of the future.
Hear it October 3 on the air or on Echoes Online Right Now!
