Klaus Schulze (1947-2022): A Tribute to a Cosmic Traveler
Tonight on Echoes, we preempt our Slow Flow Echoes for a Tribute to Klaus Schulze. The giant of electronic music left the planet on April 26, 2022 at the age of 74. His music in the 1970s influenced a generation of musicians including Academy Award winning composer Hans Zimmer, electronic artists Steve Roach, Jean-Michel Jarre, Giorgio Moroder and so many more. Klaus, as we refer to him, is in the DNA of Echoes and without the influence of his music, there would probably be no Echoes. So tonight, it’s all Klaus Schulze. We’ll hear his music from the 1970s up to his final release, Deus Arrakis. We’ll have commentary on Klaus from Steve Roach, Michael Shrieve, Ian Boddy, Mark Shreeve and Michael Whalen. We’ll also hear our mini-documentary on Klaus Schulze. Join us in remembering this titan of electronic music on Echoes.
