Olivia Chaney is a singer who seemed to burst on the scene three years ago with a debut album on the prestigious Nonesuch label. It was marketed as a folk album and certainly sounded like something throwing back to the British folk revival of the 1960s. But Chaney has a deeper background than that, some of which emerges on her latest album, Shelter. Chaney played in our studio recently and after she finished, we just kept talking.
