Classic Concert with Pat Metheny.
Pat Metheny is the iconic and eclectic guitarist who came to renown in the world of fusion jazz but who has explored free-jazz, avant-garde classical, classic jazz ensembles and more. Through it all is a distinctive sound and integrity of approach that places Metheny high in arts pantheon. Back in 2011 we trekked to Metheny’s Manhattan studio, where the guitarist played an intimate set on acoustic guitar, improvising on themes from his album of 60s pop covers, What’s It All About? In addition to songs like Cherish and And I Love Her, he performed a new improvisation that has never been released. We revisit this wonderful performance.
