Mutual Benefit Release New Video for "Lost Dreamers"

Mutual Benefit is currently on tour, hitting lots of Echoes towns like Philadelphia, Columbus, St. Louis and New York. It’s the brainchild of singer-songwriter Jordan Lee accompanied by an array of musicians in a quest to make intimate and delicate baroque pop. Upon viewing their video for the song “Lost Dreamers”, it is suffice to say that Mutual Benefit has not strayed from this path. The chorus of the song cannot help but reel the listener in, drawing from the seminal harmonies of Crosby, Stills & Nash. “Let’s take the long way home”, sings Lee and that is precisely what happens in the video. Opening from the perspective of a car passenger leaving a grey, dull city to ultimately end up lakeside. This is partnered with surreal images of misplaced street corners in the middle of said lake, perhaps a reminder that the city will always be a part of some people. It is also important to note that the people in the music video all seem to look like they are behind a green screen while wearing a green shirt. That is to say that their torsos are transparent. Nevertheless “Lost Dreamers” will inspire the listener to quiet their busy worlds and substitute them for something simpler.
This is really nice. I like everything about it.
