Lanterna's Ambient Americana Twang Live On Echoes.
Lanterna is the performance vehicle of guitarist Henry Frayne. He used to play in the shoegaze bands Area and The Moon Seven Times, but as Lanterna he makes an instrumental music that seems to rise off the heat of the American plains and travel down a surf guitar highway. He’s released several albums over the years. His latest, Backyards, was an Echoes CD of the Month. Lanterna comes into the studio with Blue Man Group drummer Eric Gebow to lay down their twangy, reverb-drenched music live. Lanterna’s Backyards isn’t the one behind your house, it’s the one behind your mind.
