Over the course of four albums and numerous live performances over the last decade Wax Tailor forged a rollicking smash-up of film dialogue, jazz grooves, John Barry’s suave orchestral aplomb and hip-hop scratching. On Phonovisions Symphonic Orchestra, Wax Tailor expands that sound creating a hyper-retrospective of his career in a double CD plus DVD of a live performance, all beautifully wrapped in a book package with lots of photos. It’s the Echoes CD of the Month for December. Wax Tailor is Jean-Christophe Le Saoût, he discusses his origins as a DJ and the expansive themes of his music in this wide-ranging interview that also includes singer Charlotte Savary. You can hear it in the Echoes Podcast. Listen here or download from iTunes.
