New Music from Tycho & Davidge tonight on Echoes
It was great to hear Scott Hansen, who is effectively Tycho, on NPR’s Weekend Sunday Edition. Of course, we had him on Echoes for a great live performance and an interview back in 2012. You can hear a track from his set on our CD Transmissions: The Echoes Living Room Concerts Volume 19. His new album, Awake, continues the propulsive electronic sound driven by electric piano and topped by his guitar which often echoes surf guitar modalities.
Davidge is Neil Davidge who has worked extensively with Massive Attack and was also a member of DNA. He has just released his solo debut, Slo Light, an album of electronica songs with different singers, among them, an Echoes favorite, Low Roar. But we’ll hear a track with Sandie Shaw a singer who was massively popular in England and throughout Europe in the 1960s. Below is another track we’re also playing.
And here’s a blast from the past, Sandie Shaw, some 40 years ago I think.
