Echoes celebrates the arrival of fall with a soundscape of autumnal moods and melancholy ambiences. These shows tend to take on a more pastoral acoustic tone and there will be plenty of that, but also some electronic tone poems and ambient excursions. Wu Man plays the Pipa, a Chinese lute known for its light, pastoral sound. She often plays new music, collaborating with explorers such as the Kronos Quartet, and she recently released an album of children’s songs from around the world.
