We pick the Best Echoes CDs of the Year at the halfway point. John Diliberto then runs them down from #25 to number 1. It begins with a band we’ve never heard of before and ends with an Icon of Echoes. We’ll hear from artists who put out signature releases, others reaching for ambitious highs and still others reflecting on very long careers.
Echoes Top 25 for June finds Digitonal’s “Beautiful Broken” at the top, followed by March’s CD of the Month pick, “Backyards” by Lanterna, and guitarist Jesse Cook’s “One World”.
It’s the longest day of the year and Echoes has the music to welcome in summer.
There are three nights of great Echoes music this week in Philadelphia, when Lanterna, Low Roar and Ozric Tentacles come to town on consecutive nights.

Echoes Top 25 for March finds Lanterna’s CD of the Month, “Backyards” on top. It’s followed by April’s CD pick, Tangerine Dream’s “Supernormal” and February’s selection, Fernwood’s “Arcadia.”
Sonomad is a project of keyboardist/programmer Ramin Sakuria and guitarist Geoffrey Brandin from The Supreme Beings of Leisure. As Sonomad, they create a downtempo space opera for a galactic sound wanderer.
