Synthesist Craig Padilla and guitarist Marvin Allen take a trip into space on their fourth album, Unfolding Skies. It’s the Echoes April CD of the Month.
On a Slow Flow Echoes, a guitar duo called Moon and Bike combines acoustic and electric guitars with a bit of a folk feel. We’ll also hear from German electronic artist Michael Bruckner.
We head into space on the next Echoes when we hear music by Paul Ellis & Pabellón Sintético. It’s a trip through sequencer melodies and synchronized rhythms from Veiled Portraits.
On the next Echoes, we swing into music by Hammock. On their album, The Second Coming Was a Moonrise, they harken back to their earlier sound with a little more energy and drums.
We’ll hear a track from the second EP in a trilogy by sitarist Anoushka Shankar: Chapter II – How Dark It Is Before Dawn. We’ll also hear a classic long track by Sally Oldfield.
Music by Robert Schroeder. He was one of the last musicians to release recordings in the classic sequencer 1970s. He has a recent album that expands on that sound, called Observer.
Remember Modern English? Mara Katria does and she has a new collaboration with the band called Modern M. The music is moody and anthemic, a modern extrapolation of a New Wave classic sound.
Music by Dean and Britta. Since leaving the band Luna, they’ve been making their own dream-pop music. They have a release called A Peace of Us. We’ll also hear Slowdive remixed.
