Dance in the New Year with an Echoes Ambient New Year.. All systems are plugged in, the chill is turned up to 11 as we swing in on electronic sounds old, new and beyond time and space.
The presents are unwrapped, stomachs are stuffed, and everyone is drowsy from wine and spiked eggnog. That means it’s time to Chill with an Echoes Christmas and Echoes has the sounds of the season.
New music by trumpet player SaQi and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist SuRaj. On their album, Dust Into Gold, they explore a downtempo fusion of electronic and Middle Eastern moods.
On the next Echoes, one half of the Thievery Corporation brain trust, Rob Garza. He’s got a new solo EP out called Dissolve. We’ll also hear new music from Richard Souther.
Coming up on Echoes we step into the Cosmic Chill Lounge. That’s a series of ambient electronic compilations from the German Sine Music label. They’ve released volume 8 in this series.
It’s music from Switzerland when the minimalist jazz ensemble, Nik Bärtsch’s Ronin come in to play live. The ECM band create a music out cyclical interlocking patterns that evolve over time.
The Echoes Top 25 for November 2018 features the Dead Can Dance CD of the Month “Dionysus” at the top, followed by White Sun, Lena Natalia, Mark Dwane, William Fitzsimmons and 20 more.
Coming up on Echoes, new music by Saul Stokes. The electronics wizard created live electronic music with no synthesizers and a setup that looks like an electrician’s workbench.
