Yoed Nir on Echoes

Yoed Nir was trained as a classical cellist in Israel, but then began playing with rock artists like Regina Spektor and Rufus Wainwright. On his solo albums, he forges an ambient chamber music of looping, multi-tracked and electronically processed cello to create his own 21st century orchestra. We’ll hear him play music from his album, The Next Dream, live on Echoes.

Fin Greenall, who records as Fink, has transformed from a techno artist to a transcendental folkie. He has a new album out called Hard Believer. We’ll also hear from Saul Stokes and his new CD of homemade electronics, LFOUFO.

Muriel Anderson

Muriel Anderson was a fingerstyle champion and a mentee of Chet Atkins and Les Paul. She creates a pastoral music drawing from folk, jazz and classical music playing acoustic six-string and harp guitar. She talks about her star-studded double CD, Nightlight Daylight with its illuminated cover.

Luna is Luna Lee. She’s a Korean musician who plays an instrument called the gayageum, a zither similar to the Japanese koto. Backed by a rock quartet, she plays music from her debut album, Luna that includes covers of Jimi Hendrix.

Ceiri Torjussen - Test

Ceiri Torjussen is a Welsh-born, classically-trained composer with jazz inclinations who has recorded an electronic ambient score for the movie Test. Torjussen’s score uses classic 70s and 80s synthesizer sounds to create a score that echoes Brian Eno, Philip Glass and Depeche Mode.
