Music out of Denmark from Sylfide
On the next Echoes, music out of Denmark by Sylfide. Denmark seems to be home to a lot of great modern music like Agnes Obel and Trentemoeller. I’ve got them both today as well as a new band that’s taking Danish folk music for inspiration. They are Sylfide. That’s Danish for Sylph. The band is headed up by Helene Dorthea Tungelund, who is the singer as well as playing harp. She has one foot in tradition and one in modern music. Their album is Blat Lys or Blue Light. It shines on the next Echoes with John Diliberto from PRX.
