Ibeyi Rises Upi: The Echoes Interview

Ibeyi Live at Big Ears (Pic Diliberto)
Weekend listeners Experience the joy of Ibeyi. That’s Yoruba for twins and this duo are twin sisters, Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Naomi Diaz, from France who have an intoxicating sound that merges pop, hip-hop, African and Cuban grooves and harmonies that only twin sisters have. Their father was a percussionist in the Buena Vista Social Club and their mother was French-Venezuelan singer. Their charming and exuberant sound recently raised the roof at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville. We talk to Ibeyi on Echoes from PRX.
