Pat Metheny in Classic Echoes Concert Streaming Now.
Although Pat Metheny had already been interviewed on Echoes several times, his first live performance for the show was in 2003, when he came to the Echoes studio in Yellow Springs, PA. He had just released the CD One Quiet Night, a recording of solo acoustic baritone guitar improvisations. He performed one spontaneous improvisation, and new interpretations of pieces from the album, including covers of tunes by Norah Jones and Gerry and the Pacemakers. This version of “Last Train Home” appeared on the CD Bridges: The Echoes Living Room Concerts volume 9 (sadly, out of print.) We listen back to that intimate concert.
