Get on Board for Poppy Ackroyd's Video For Trains
English composer Poppy Ackroyd is working in a kinetic, post-minimalist style of chamber music that is driving and melodically charged. She’s right in the thick of artists like Nils Frahm, Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka. She’s just released a new album called Resolve. That is something her music doesn’t do, resolve, that is. Instead, it propels along a line of unerring logic and symmetry, sending you into spinning world of sonic architecture, like being inside an Escher designed mobile. This video for “Trains” does exactly that in a subtly surreal way.
