French DJ and producer Wax Tailor is in a lineage with French musique concrete pioneers Pierre Henry and Pierre Schaeffer. Tailor infuses music from the real world and creates elaborate collages, however, his soundscapes are pinned by down-tempo, hip-hop rhythms cut with film dialog. He’s just released the most ambitious album of 2014, with Phonovision Symphonic Orchestra.
