She was number one on Billboard in June and now she’s Number One at Echoes. Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” leads our Top 25 for August. The singer has turned in a fragile and alluring album that taps into the darker side of Echoes sonically and thematically. It was the CD of the Month in August and you can read a review and hear tracks here. In a month that featured a lot of repeat programs, vocals dominated the Top Ten, holding 9 positions and many of them were heard live on the show. But six of the Second Ten were instrumental albums including the return of William Orbit with Strange Cargo 5 and Tigerforest’s epic The Tides of Day and Night. Here’s the complete Top 25.
