Richard Leo Johnson is an idiosyncratic guitarist who pushed the limits of Michael Hedges-style extended technique before going completely out there with an Americana music of the imagination. His new album, Celeste, posits the idea of an alien abduction as one of his characters, the hobo-musician Vernon McAlister, has sex with an alien. To realize his fantasy vision, Johnson plays a one of a kind acoustic-Theremin guitar built for Martin Guitars. Hear Johnson talk about the third album in his Hobo odyssey and the birth of the first alien itinerant musician in the Echoes Podcast.
This was an amazing listen!
