HECTOR ZAZOU: CELTIC LAMENTS
Hector Zazou is a willful eclectic, mixing with traditional
artists and classical players, rockers and jazzers, poets and
actors. His albums "Songs From The Cold Seas" and Sahara Blue
were both moody and ecstatic albums that were more the work of an
auteur than a composer. Last year, Zazou turned his eyes towards
Ireland and came up with an album of chamber laments called
"Lights In The Dark". Featuring singers Breda Mayock, Katie
McMahon and Lasairfhiona Ni Chonaola, Zazou casts their Sean Nos
singing in exotic, chamber music frames. Hector Zazou and Breda
Mayock talk about their Celtic Laments.

SECRET GARDEN: ROSE-COLORED MUSIC
Secret Garden is Fionualla Sherry, a spritely violinist from
Ireland and Rolf Lovland, a keyboardist and pop music composer
from Norway. Together they weave lush, romantic world view that
combines their Celtic and Nordic heritage with sweet
orchestrations, and sentimental melodies. Fionualla and Rolf sit
down at their piano and violin to talk about a music born in the
Eurovision contests that spawned Abba. (Coming soon: An Echoes
Living Room Concert with Secret Garden).

AN ECHOES LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH SPOOL
Spool is the music of dark nights, rain swept streets and that
last drink before closing. A quartet based in San Francisco and
Chicago, they weave chill-out improvisations between ambient
music and jazz, Pink Floyd and Bill Evans. We ventured into an
industrial loft to capture Spool in an ambient living room
concert with music from their self-titled debut (New Dog Records)
and some brand new music.

ONE OF TEN ARTISTS FOR TEN YEARS OF ECHOES
STEVE TIBBETTS - EXPLODED GUITARS
Rarely has an artist prevailed with the unique vision of Steve
Tibbetts, from his early self-produced solo albums like Yr,
through to his recent critically acclaimed collaborations with
Tibetan nun Choying Drolma, Tibbetts has woven an intricate,
often psychedelic soundscape, mixing acoustic and electric
guitars and the global percussion of Marc Anderson. We talk with
Tibbetts and Anderson about music that results from taking out
your brain and playing with it.
