A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH ANDREAS VOLLENWEIDER
In a rare Echoes Living Room Concert before a live audience,
Andreas Vollenweider brings his electro-acoustic harp and
percussionist Walter Keiser in front of the Music Personnel
Conference in New Orleans this past February. Andreas shows off
his incredible virtuosity, playing music from his new Sony
Classical album, COSMOPOLY.

Suzanne Teng gives a performance of global flutes in her Topanga
Canyon living room. Joined by an ensemble of world percussion,
acoustic bass, dulcimer and harmonium, she weaves the seductive
melodies of her solo debut, "Mystic Journey" (Autumn Light).

PETER ROSS: SHAKUHACHI WINDS
The shakuhachi flute was born in the meditations of Japanese Zen
Buddhism, but Seattle based musician Peter Ross has adapted the
instrument to a more contemporary sound on albums like PRIMITIVE
HEART. He adds in Indian percussion and covers compositions by
John Coltrane. In his Seattle home, Peter Ross talks about his
Shakuhachi winds.

TONY LEVIN: BOTTOMS UP
Tony Levin is a bass players bassist. His list of credits
stretches for pages and includes Joan Armatrading and Peter
Gabriel in addition to being a member of King Crimson. Tony
recently put out a solo album called WATERS OF EDEN (Narada) that
posits the idea of bass as a lead instrument. We talk with Tony
and members of his band, including Larry "Synergy" Fast.
