MARK O'CONNOR, YO-YO MA & EDGAR MEYER: WALTZING AGAIN
Take three string virtuosos from the classical and bluegrass
world and put them in a room together and fingers fly. That's
what happens on a new CD, APPALACHIAN JOURNEY (Sony Classical),
the follow-up to their highly acclaimed APPALACHIAN WALTZ
project from a few years ago. We talk with O'Connor, Ma and
Meyer about the intersection of bluegrass and classical worlds.

SKYEDANCE: FLYING ON SCOTTISH GLUE
Skyedance is a brilliant Celtic ensemble, based in California,
but led by Scottish Fiddler Alasdair Fraser. Playing original
compositions, Skyedance sends their Celtic themes through Middle
Eastern rhythms and chamber orchestrations all held together by
what Alasdair calls "the Scottish glue." Skyedance sets down in
a Berkeley, California living room where they unveil aerodynamics
of their latest album, LABYRINTH (Culburnie Records).

CLASSICAL MUSIC IN A MODERN STYLE
We'll be hearing classical compositions by Bach, Beethoven,
Mozart and others, interpreted in a modern style by William
Orbit, Wendy Carlos and many more. We'll hear some selections
from Windham Hill's new "Mozart Variations" project, the reissue
of Carlos' "Switched on Bach" and other new versions of
orchestral classics.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH LAGQ
LAGQ return to the Echoes Living Room for more new music for four
guitars. The quartet picks their way through music off their
latest CD, AIR & GROUND (Sony Classical), including the title
piece, and The Penguin Caf‚ Orchestras' "Music for A Found
Harmonium."
