CAROLYN CRUSO-LOSS & TRANSFORMATION
Since 1985, Carolyn Cruso has played hammered dulcimer and flute
in a duo with her partner, Robert Almblade. But when he died
suddenly a couple of years ago, Carolyn had to re-assess her
career. The result was the album, Transformation (Blue Heron),
which continues the chamber folk sound she'd explored with
Robert. We talk with Carolyn in her Seattle home.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH ULLI
Ulli is actually Ulli Bogershausen, a German Guitarist who last
year released his American debut, "Ageless Guitar Solos" (Waters
Edge). It's a mix of melodic originals and some inventive cover
tunes including pieces by Alex De Grassi, Leo Kottke and Mason
Williams's "Classical Gas." Ulli sits in the Echoes living room
to play some of these tunes as well as new songs, all worked out
in the filigree of his finger-style guitar.

The Echoes Cineplex opens once again for Echoes at the movies.
We'll be screening new soundtracks from Richard Horowitz from
"Three Seasons" and Hans Zimmer's score to "The Thin Red Line."

IMAGES OF PHAEDRA: A 25TH ANNIVERSARY TIME-TRIP TO TANGERINE
DREAM'S SEMINAL ALBUM
It was 25 years ago that Tangerine Dream launched Phaedra, an
album that would forever change the perception of electronic
music and which is still finding followers today. Phaedra topped
the British pop charts and created a gestalt locked around
technology, space imagery and altered states of consciousness. In
this 25th Anniversary tribute, we'll look back at Phaedra with
members of Tangerine Dream and hear from several of the musicians
that album influenced including Steve Roach, Robert Rich, and
Mark Shreeve of Red Shift.
