A BALINESE SOUNDSCAPE
Western musicians have been attracted to the sound of Bali since
Debussy heard a Gamelan orchestra at the turn of the last
century. We'll hear some modern Balinese-inspired music by David
Parsons, Jalan Jalan, Ancient Future and more.

PAT THOMI'S FUSION FAIRYTALES
Pat Thomi is one of those journeyman musicians who has played on
films, recording sessions and toured and recorded with headliners
like Gino Vannelli and Jean-Luc Ponty. Last year he released an
atmospheric solo album called "Fairytales." We venture to Pat
Thomi's Los Angeles recording studio where he pulls out an
electric sitar and tells us about ambient fantasies.

JOHN DOAN-WAYFARING
John Doan wants to be an Irish bard carrying tales from the
emerald isle. He doesn't sing them but he plays them on his harp
guitar. His latest journey has spawned the album WAYFARER. John
Doan talks about his latest travels through the Celtic Isles and
reveals the story's behind music that he composed right on the
spot of scared sites and holy grounds, from castles to
monasteries.

AN ECHOES LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH MARK HUNTON
Using Native American flutes, Mark Hunton evokes the images of
his travels to Himalaya on his CD, "Annapurna: The Towering Sky"
(Spotted Peccary). Back in San Diego he gathers together a group
of musicians including an Iranian singer intoning wordless vocals
and ambient guitarist David Helpling, to unfold his melodies.
