A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH LORI CARSON
Even though she's worked with avant-rock group the Golden Palominos and Bill Laswell, Lori Carson was best known as a singer-songwriter. But that's not the sound of her new CD, THE FINEST THING (Meta Records). Instead, she's concocted a shadowy ambient dreamscape full of breathy vocals, sometimes singing lyrics, more often not, surrounded by a chamber group of echoes and memories. Lori Carson comes into the Echoes living room to open an ambient scrapbook of musings and murmurings.
