ADRIAN LEGG: CHURCH HYMNS AND FLAGELLATED GUITAR
Adrian Legg is a guitarist's guitarist. As John Diliberto wrote
in the liner notes of Legg's new CD, INHERITANCE (Favored Nations
Acoustic), "Adrian Legg can bring you to tears with the sweetest
melancholy melody played out in a filigree of finger-picking intricacy,
leaving one gasping for air at the rarefied beauty of it all.
But he can just as easily pluck and twang in a virtuoso display,
bending notes in a drunkenly delirious slur of lines that slip
and slide like Jim Carey at a taffy pull." Legg talks about
his pan-roots approach to modern guitar playing.

JEFF BEAL & NAWANG KHECHOG: SCORING TIBETAN TRAGEDY
TIBET: CRY OF THE SNOW LION is the critically acclaimed documentary
about the plight of Tibet, filmed over the course of ten years
by director Tom Peosay. Scoring his horrific tale is film composer
Jeff Beal and Tibetan exile, former monk and flutist, Nawang Khechog.
Together they create a haunting score that borrows from the sounds
of the Himalayas with Tibetan horns, flutes, chants and percussion,
but arranged into an emotional underscore. Jeff Beal, Nawang Khechog
and Tom Peosay talk about their Tibetan odyssey.

CLARA & JEAN-LUC PONTY: RUNS IN THE FAMILY
Jean-Luc Ponty is the world renowned French violinist who was
an icon of jazz-fusion in the 1970s and 80s. In addition to stints
with Frank Zappa, The Mahavishnu Orchestra and dozens of his own
recordings, he also had some children, among them, pianist Clara
Ponty. She's just released her first album in five years. It's
called MIRROR OF TRUTH (JLP Productions) and marks the first time
the father and daughter have recorded together. We gather the
two musicians together where they talk of a youthful prodigy and
a woman who is finding her own musical voice.
